Lazy day for Country Fried Steak

I am way late getting this recipe out! Been busy being lazy and playing with my new Blidgets! Just returned from town. The grocery is crowded and the highway heading north into the city is sheer gridlock with everyone heading out to their Superbowl parties!! I'm so happy to be back home in the country where the only traffic you see is the deer crossing the road!

Not the prettiest image but it tasted "Ohh Soooo Goooood"!!

Country Fried Steaks
  • 2 1/2 - 3 lbs cubed steak
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Dash of garlic powder
  • Dash of Paprika
  • 3/4 - 1 cup flour for dredging
  • 1/4 cup canola oil for frying

1.  In a casserole dish, generously sprinkle cubed steaks with Worcestershire sauce on both sides. Set aside to marinate for 15 -20 minutes.

2.  Heat the oil in a large family sized skillet on HIGH heat.

3.  Remove meat from marinade and sprinkle both sides generously with salt, pepper garlic powder and paprika.

4.  Dredge the meat in flour making sure it is fully coated on all sides.

5.  Fry the steaks on HIGH heat until brown on both sides. Quickly turn steaks and reduce heat to Low to finish cooking where the steaks are Medium-Well done (slightly pink in the middle).

Pepper Gravy . . . .ah yes, I'm still in search of that perfect recipe so if you have one to share send it my way!! Until then I will continue to use my favorite brand, Southeastern Mills Old Fashioned Peppered Gravy! Yumm-O!!
